Dear Parishioners,
We are blessed to be able to have the support and consolation of our faith during this time.
Today’s readings are about God’s call to be Missionary Disciples who share God’s desire for the salvation of all humanity. However, first, we must repent and believe the Good news.
In the Gospel, Jesus begins to proclaim that the “Kingdom of God has come near, Repent and believe in the Good News”.
The presence of the Kingdom of God requires repentance – Metanoia. Not just a saying sorry but a change of one’s mindset, our perspective our direction in life. Sometimes it is turning away from sin and other times it is making a serious effort to spend our time making a difference in the world.
This is exemplified in the call story of Simon, Andrew, James, and John. They changed the direction of their life in a radical way. In doing so they found their meaning, value and purpose in life. God calls each of us to serve him in unique ways with our talents, gifts and abilities. Most often like Jonah, and the first disciples who become the first apostles, Disciple - meaning student and apostle meaning one sent, God calls us out of our comfort zone because he desires the salvation of others and He sees our potential before we do. God is calling each of us to continue to serve him even in the midst of a pandemic.
Thank you for your generous physical, spiritual, and financial support to our parish. You are a blessing to our community.
Let us continue to pray for each other and with each other as we share the message of God's Divine Mercy.
I remember you and your families in my Masses.
May God bless you.
